Join us for the 2026 edition of the Global Forum on Modern Direct Democracy!

Taking place in Gaborone, Botswana from 7–10 October 2026 under the theme Indigenous. Resilient. Empowering., this year’s forum will explore democratic innovation through the lens of Botswana’s political experience.

For the first time, the Global Forum heads to Southern Africa. Over four days in Gaborone, participants from around the world will come together for one of the leading global conferences on participatory and direct democracy, engaging in dialogue, exchange, and collaboration on the key challenges and opportunities shaping democracy today.
