Citizens' Action for Democracy (CitiDem) develops from the cooperation of 12 partner organisations working on democracy and participation issues. The project aims to enhance citizen engagement through the organisation of Citizen Assemblies in eight EU countries by strengthening civil society organisations' capacity to inform and involve citizens, while equipping individuals with the tools and knowledge to actively participate in democratic processes.
Democracy International is leading the organisation of the Citizen Assembly taking place on 10-11 September 2025 in Cologne, Germany. The event will address democratic participatory tools, with a analysis . How can German citizens participate in democracy at the national level? How can they do it at the EU-level? What are the tools that the German State provides its citizens to make every voice heard? How does citizens’ participation in EU decision-making work? And finally, what can we learn from the German context? And what from the EU-level?
