Lichtraum für Demokratie und Menschenrechte
  Berlin, DE Other events

DETAILS

"All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights..." - These are the opening words of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which was adopted 75 years ago, on 10 December 1948, after two inhuman world wars.

These principles are enshrined in numerous constitutions, including the Basic Law of the Federal Republic of Germany. But to what extent do they still correspond to reality?

We will be inspired by the light and sound installation "Voices of Democracy" by Berlin video artist Edda Dietrich, who has been working on democracy issues for decades. In the "Lightroom for Democracy and Human Rights", we will try to understand together what human rights mean to us, how they affect our lives and how we can defend them.
