This is the first mini-assembly—a one-day version of a citizens assembly—of a series being organized by the coalition Rewrite LA. The Los Angeles Charter Review Commission, an appointed body, has asked Rewrite LA to organize deliberation online and in person, including this mini-assembly, as part of its own process of forming recommendations for changes to the Los Angeles city charter. Those recommendations are to be sent next spring to the city council, which could place the recommendations on the November 202
