How can citizens shape democracy – in Germany and in Europe?

Join us for an exciting International Day of Democracy event where we dive deep into how participatory democracy works—both at the national and EU level. Learn, discuss, and co-create solutions on how we, as citizens, can make our voices heard.

What’s This About?

This Citizen Assembly is part of Citizens' Action for Democracy (CitiDem) – an EU-funded project that empowers citizens to participate in democracy. Together with partners from across Europe, we're building a stronger, more participatory democracy—by citizens, for citizens.

This Assembly will focus on:

  • How do German citizens participate in national democracy?

  • What tools are available to influence EU decision-making?

  • What works, what could work better — and what can we learn from each other

Why Participate?

  • Gain practical knowledge about how democracy really works beyond elections.

  • Exchange with fellow citizens, democracy experts, and civil society leaders from across Europe.

  • Learn how citizens can influence policies, both in Germany and at the EU level.

  • Be part of shaping recommendations that could influence future democratic practices.

Who Can Join?

Everyone who cares about democracy! Whether you're an active citizen, a newcomer to participatory processes, a student, community organizer, or just curious.
