Those Selected Will Join Assembly on City Charter Jan. 11
News in the effort to bring deliberative democracy into the Los Angeles city charter. LA residents who wish to deliberate on the city charter on January 11 must register for a lottery to pick the participants in the deliberation by this Wednesday, December 31. The link to register for the lottery is here.
All LA residents are eligible. The January 11 deliberation, the second one-day "mini assembly" scheduled by the coalition Rewrite LA, will focus on whether and how to add a preamble and bill of rights to the charter, which is LA's city constitution.
