A Lottery-Selected Group Considers Land Use in LA on December 13, 10a-5p
WHERE: ICA, 1717 E. 7th Street, Los Angeles CA 90021
WHEN: December 13, 10a to 5p
This is the first lottery-selected mini-public ever held in Los Angeles. It's a one-day "mini-assembly"—an abridged version of a citizens assembly. And It's the first in a series of events held by Rewrite LA, a coalition that has been asked by the appointed LA Charter Review Commission to bring deliberation and engagement into the charter reform process.
A convening of 40 lottery-selected residents who reflect LA’s diversity. Delegates will learn, deliberate, and produce recommendations for the Charter Reform Commission. The focus of this mini-assembly is on land use, and charter provisions involving land use. Among the experts testifying is Bill Fulton, author and former planner.
