For those of us who want grow democracy and democratic practices, we need to harness digital.
Brampton’s story is unique: we are the world and the world is us… We represent 171` different cultures, 250 languages… One of the key themes of our digital communications strategy is to address the digital divide... and we want to make sure thall residents have the communications necessary to receive updates from the city of Brampton.
In the last few weeks, we just got passed in the last few weeks an IT strategy for AI innovation.,.. This allows us to create technology for AI strategies that have a strong business case.
It’s a three-year roadmap, and in the end we'll see how effective these AI public projects are… We also have partnerships with academia.... We have a cyber security analysis, specialist to protect the data of our citizens
When it comes to residents, their transit also is being heavily digitized. We have the last mile service: when the bus drops you off, you are able to digitally order a smaller bus to get you to the final destination.
In the future, I hope AI is deeply integrated. Because if we’re not ahead of the curve, then we are going to be forced to change.
