Session 1, The Finnish Rhythm, explores how trust, equality, and daily structures shape participation, featuring Elina Hakoniemi (Demos Helsinki). Hybrid.
Session 2, Caregiving on a Tight Schedule, examines time poverty, family life, and civic engagement, with Alexander Ruser (University of Agder). Hybrid.
Session 3, Making Time for Democracy, is an interactive workshop at the University of Agder campus in Norway during FORTHEM Democracy Week, where participants reflect on how democratic participation fits into their weekly lives.
Session 4, Everyday Life in Bosnia, held in Sarajevo, Bosnia, offers a comparative perspective on how social conditions shape civic life.
ORGANISERS
Future Demo ry is a Finnish registered association whose goal is to provide democracy education for young people and create opportunities for them to develop skills for careers in democratic governance, democracy education, and democratic innovation through the Student Network on Future Democracy.
The FORTHEM Alliance (Fostering Outreach within European Regions, Transnational Higher Education and Mobility) brings together a new generation of creative minds able to cooperate across languages, borders, and disciplines to address the societal challenges and skills shortages Europe faces. FORTHEM is a network of nine multidisciplinary public research universities with strong regional roots in Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Norway, Poland, Romania, and Spain.
