Five countries, five democracy activists!
All over the world, democracy activists are standing up for their communities, often at great risk to their own lives. This is happening at a time when democracy is being pushed back to an unprecedented extent. It is in this setting that “Life as an activist” will introduce you to the work and the challenges of democracy activists in different contexts.
We are following a day in the life of five democracy activists on different continents: Tunisia, Kenya, Taiwan, Georgia and Colombia. In their own words and from their own perspective, we show their stories through five video journals, followed up by a series of online events. You are invited to join us to learn about challenges faced by activists in wildly different contexts!
