   10 April:

  • The police had gained new power in order to enforce the quarantine. Penalties for violations can include a fine of up to $750,000 and imprisonment for six months.

   18 April:

  • Canada extended the border control with the U.S. for other 30 days.

  3 May:

  • Some provinces started easing the lockdown measures.

10 July:

  • Mandatory Self-Quarantine continuous to be in place for all travelers coming to Canada

  • Suspension of parliament session (until April 20, 2020)
  • Postponement of upcoming indigenous elections in 2020 proposed
  • By-elections in Victoria and Rossland, as well as Lytton, have been postponed
  • A referendum in Kamloops has also been postponed

  • Nurses and other healthcare workers plead for vacation ahead of a possible second COVID-19 wave, as they had been effectively required to work since the outbreak without any breaks
